Re: inappropriate language on games

First off, sword literally added nothing of value to this discussion other than repeat the fallacy alluded to earlier. "Mods can ban whoever they want." Just because you CAN do something-never means you SHOULD. Secondly, to more mature individuals like Love, you think that people who say ...

Re: inappropriate language on games

I do believe we have grasped the main point of your argument as we have recognized that, "It's not about whether the language is bigoted or not." Perhaps a recap: Yes - those words are very offensive and I just don't really want them spoken in my presence generally, but that alone isn't t...

Re: HaloMD

sword, stop by the MGM programming subforum; Koingo software is hiring and I posted info there. thanks man, I'll check it out but I'm already either working on high energy physics research, in a finance firm, or at a friend's startup. I'm actually in the library teaching myself ruby and a specific ...

Re: HaloMD

I remember back when I was just beginning Jonathan figured out the blam file had a CRC-32 checksum and he wrote a tool I used for a while to rewrite playlists so we could play things like king of the hill, etc. It was kinda cool but really tedious. Also, I can't remember how the halo crack I had wor...

Re: HaloMD

I know I was the one who figured out how to do the conversions. I left things to almit a long time back with QAR because his map parsing framework was much better than the hacky one I made up as a proof of concept. Instead it would be a lot simpler to hack the halo UB binary to use the demo pointers...

Re: HaloMD

It's been a really long time since I've done anything related to halo, however, I spent a long time disassembling and looking through halo's structure and exploit information online. I remember this ( http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers.htm#gshidden ) website as having a lot of information about how...

Re: HaloMD

This is pretty cool and pretty lol at the same time considering how it works. Then again I suppose ub is unsupported software nowadays so what the hell. I'm just curious what the names list is for.

Re: Letter requesting source code of the Halo Universal Bina

You do realize MacSoft would have had to license the code and use of all Halo related art and trademarks from Microsoft and / or Gearbox and would be legally liable if the source code were released against the authorization of their licensor?

Any chance you could throw the source online? I'd love to see what you've done and add on a bit.

Re: Three years ago today

Hahaha, I remember this. How about bob's HMT or sparkedit? Anyone ever use Deox's bitmask calculator? Modifying the header of the maps with a hex editor and then rebuilding them with HHK?

Rock mod anyone? Figuring out how gametypes worked?

Fun suff.

Re: swordedit: An Update

DOUBLE POST! There are two "rebuildScenario" methods in Scenario.m. The second, more advanced by the look of it, is unused. It's well named "rebuildScenario222." I tested how it worked, and it fixes the saving issue. I duped stuff, saved, saved again, and Halo still ran the map....
