Mac Gaming Mods

Well I've known how to mod metas for a while...and swaps...but that's about it. I'm not a "new" modder, I'm just one who hasn't modded in ages.

How do you edit bitmasks? I already know how to do metas, but bitmasks are confusing me.

So I just got started with hexedit, and I tried to experiment with changing the paew and jorp stuff, but it hasn't been doing a thing. What am I SUPPOSED to do when I'm figuring out the tags? Do I edit the part that says "jorp" or do I edit what's next to that?
