Re: random idea: Tag patcher
I had a similar idea many years ago. I was going to update it to include tags for [im|ex]port but that never panned out. So UHP only handles meta edits. It wouldn't be too hard to write something though. I figured it's uses were too limited for me to bother with but someone (who's not me) that's int...

Re: Halo anniversairy update, Better gameplay vid/sc level p
Modzo, I'm basing it on the way the model, animation and all that other jazz is handled. More specifically, that it's significantly different from H1 to H3. They are using full blown H3 animations and collisions for the updated version of the campaign from what I can tell and from what I've taken fr...

Re: Halo anniversairy update, Better gameplay vid/sc level p
It runs two engines. The old one side by side with the newer Halo 3 engine. So you could rip the H1anniversary data to H3/ODST/Reach but not into H1.

Re: WHO THE FUCK POST IT?
Newbs don't know about RB's cross platform capability. That said did modzo actually release a windows verion?
Btw, the person who posted it is pretty obvious.

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
What you're referring to is byte alignment and those aren't a huge problem. The problem we're talking about exceeds that. There's parts that go far beyond that. And other things that look more lik parts were hacked to make things work. Check out the USTR code. There's some data in it that would work...

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
Ah. I know those exact blank spots. They really are confusing. I thought you meant blank spaces in guerilla exe data. I wonder if it's restricted to a certain set of tags or if it's randomly distributed through the tag set. Reminds me of the USTR tag data which has some pointer information that woul...

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
I know it probably sounds silly and you probably already tried but what happens if you s/\s//g them?
P.S.
I've got a week off next week so might lurk around IRC or some other channel. You gonna be online at all? I'm getting a bit of the old itch to scratch around inside Halo again.

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
Those blank spots seem familiar. I remember seeing something like that when I looked at raw guerilla tags as well. Does it have anything to do with dependencies by chance? That's always been a bugger to me since you don't have your super incredible awesome list of magic numbers when working outside ...

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
Please tell me architect isn't using RB. Else if it is I really really hope you've got the object assignment versus object referencing issue sorted. I miss pointers. If you ever feel like tossing your reverse engineered data set my way it'd be appreciated. Btw, shouldn't the order give you everythin...

Re: Actr > Int32s (Sparky's Plugins v1)
The reason for the caps is because they're treated as signed 32-bit integers (hence int32). Can't speak to the actual utility.

Re: [Experimental App] Emergence
Cool beans.
And apoc was just a new setup. C++ based with better control of memory (esch has some issues with objects showing up in places they shouldn't due to weak referencing). Might also have been tag based rather than map based since maps have limitations.

Re: The Plugin Writer's Index
It'd probably be more efficient to do what conure did and just hack the object data out of HEK. But then his HDD died and he said frack it. G'luck.
