Re: 5 Years

Obligatory 07'er. Though I missed my chronological cue.

Re: iTunes 11

Well hey, at least I can get them off. But anyways, iTunes has always hogged a shitton of memory on my computer, for no value except for keeping the store running. MediaMonkey lets me play music, catalogue it easily, etc. without having to have a bunch of ads, social networking, or other bullshit bo...

Re: [News] Puerto Rico wants to become the 51st state of the

Do you know how many goddamn flags there are.

Better to just merge two states, like the Dakotas. It's not like anyone would notice.

Re: MURICA IS SAVES

Legalizing drugs is the same as legalizing suicide. At some point, people are going to be asking themselves the question, "Wait a minute, this is deadly and corrupts the lives of people within entire countries. Why isn't it illegal?" Yeah, good thing alcohol is legal, amirite? I love guzz...

Re: Star Wars: Episodes 7, 8, and..... 9!

There are things that when done should stay done. Star Wars is one of those things.

Firefly, on the other hand...

Guys, seriously, watch Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champaloo. They're only 26ish episodes each, too.

Re: The Community

I'm open for social networking. Though I rarely use FB or Twitter, I'm up for Skype and Steam.

Re: Building a Desktop

Well, for one I tend to avoid anything that tries to advertise itself as "hardcore," "gamer's," "(e)xtreme," and so forth. Though that build seems pretty good for the price, I don't trust the GPU and PSU manufacturers, and those are two things you want to have quality o...

Re: Building a Desktop

The optical drive is the one I use and it's pretty standard. This is my monitor, though it seems your choice is a newer version (or something like that) and $10, for what that's worth. Sorry that I haven't been able to update with a bit more thought-out build recently, I've been having family issues...

Re: Building a Desktop

That drive is a laptop drive, though I suppose it should fit. Sound cards are more or less useless unless you plan on sound engineering or something, and even then it's conditional.

Re: Building a Desktop

The processor, if it is a quality one, will be about as expensive as buying a new intel mac pro, on which you can install any windows software anyway. Right there, you're talking at least $1000. $1000 processor? Are you really suggesting this? Please tell me you're kidding. Intel -- chipset should ...

Re: Building a Desktop

I did this in a jiffy, didn't add monitor, optical drive, OS, or accessories. Figured you'd decide on those (though I can certainly recommend some very nice parts for those categories). NOTE: I did this in a hurry, so chances are you might be able to switch out some parts for a bit of efficiency/cos...

Re: Building a Desktop

The heatsink that they're talking about is probably the north/south bridge heatsinks. As far as heatsinks/CPU fans go, the 212+ is stellar.

I'll probably check it out tomorrow once I
stop playing Path of Exile
have time.

Re: Building a Desktop

I could offer some help with picking parts, but I'll have to do it later today once I have a bit more time. One word of advice, ASUS is awesome, and try to get ASUS parts for everything but video cards. Also, in regards to those items, the case is overpriced, you have two CPU fans (why?), and I'm no...
