Night + Day Machinima Maps

Wassup, MGM. it's been a while since I've been on, but I've made good use of my time. I am posting not one, but two new mods today.

Alright, before i give you your screenies, there are a few things to know: these mods are made especially for machinima production, although they can be used for other purposes. There's a bunch of edits done, most noticeably to the lighting and also new skins for the hogs and the player models (see if you notice them). I also fiddled around with some of the weapons, stuff like making rockets 36% faster. There's other stuff, too, but I'm not gonna list it here; check out the READ ME file once you download the mods.

Although you can't really see it in the last two pics, I made the Spartans a lot muddier and unclean. Also, these pictures were taken while holding the gravity rifle/camera mentioned in the READ ME.

EDIT: Here's a better pic of the spartan skin.

As you can see, I added an ODST logo to the breastplate, and a whole lot of mud to the lower parts of the suit. It's most visible on white armor, but it still shows up on differently-colored armor. To me, it looks a lot more realistic in the sense that no one fighting in BG would stay clean for very long.

just a tip for the spartan skin, have a look at the multi and multi mask (extract the bipd multi, you get both of them.)
darken the both skins where the mud is. use a full black brush with 75-90 opacity. then it will look better.

Right, because mud doesn't reflect light as much as clean metal.

and changing the multi mask reduces the colour effect, therby making it brown, not redish/bluish/etc.

Their names are above their heads still, this makes you have to crop out above their heads, or shoot really low. Theres a tut in the Tutorials section on how to do it properly.

For that matter, having dimmed lightmaps instead of black fog would help create a more realistic night.

It's not my night map, it's your night map, Moxus. I saw it and loved it, and for my purposes of dramatic lighting, it's perfect.
