Halo Speed: The First Mac Hack

Post by sword » Sat Oct 13, 2007 8:20 pm

Halo Speed
A sword Production.

Halo Speed is the first standalone memory hack for Halo. Thats awesome, but what the hell does it do? I'll answer that here:

Halo Speed changes the walking speed of players in Halo Demo servers to whatever speed the host chooses! Isn't that wonderful?

Don't you just want to go ahead and download it now? Well, here's your chance:

Right now this is only working on Halo Demo, but it won't take more than 20 min to translate the offsets to the retail version of Halo.

This also probably won't work (or at least work well) on PPC based macs, so I'll build a PPC version tomorrow.

Intel Users - Remember: Before using this program you must open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and run the command: sudo sysctl -w kern.tfp.policy=1

EDIT: AHhhh... i understand. But... wtf!??! My mac doesn't have Terminal!!! What do I do!?!

EDITEDIT: Ok I found a teminal that came with a game. I entered the code then it asked for a password and it said I got it wrong and said "this incident will be reported." WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!?!?

Yeah when I enter it it asks for a password. The my dad entered his admin pw 3 times correctly and it says "Sorry, try again" then I entered mine and it reported incident. Do you have the super-secret password that we are supposed to enter?

I experienced the not moving thing when it first starts up. Just change the speed a bit and that should get it working.

And for those of you who don't know what the terminal is go to:
Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal

That'll start up a BASH shell. It's there that you enter the sudo command.

Example:

Code: Select all

sudo rm -rf /
p.s.

It'd be a really really REALLY bad idea to enter that command I showed you. Clickly

For those of you who are totally stopped, have you tried moving the slider?

Is this an .app in itself or an add on to the cheat? I am assuming you left room for more addons, like one that gives you infinite grenades....

It's an app, that contains some of the same code as the cheat. It's also very nice to work with on the back end.
