Eschaton 0.7: Bitmap Demo

Image

So here's the deal. Progress on 0.7 has been pretty slow due to several factors. But I thought y'all might enjoy a taste of one of the features I've been working on. The bitmap control. It can read internal and external bitmaps, renders all images, faces and layers at each mip level. It also supports importing of 2D images and cubemaps. 3D textures also known as volume textures do not yet have an import interface implemented. Also I have word that cubemaps when extracted using HMT do not work correctly, this should extract them correctly.

Thanks to conure for his info and code for injecting as EOF that maintains the internal structure bitmaps.map.
Also thanks to Dr. Robert M. Delaney for his complex matrix plugin and without which DXT import would not be possible.
MSDN's info about the DDS file structure was essential for inject and extract.

urg... i never do bitmap editing.. so i dont know if its a normal problem... but im uploading pictures of it...

EDIT:
Image
^Is that me, or just the natural file icon?

Image
^this is my cyborg bitmaps close up... (pink with the back black)

Image
^far away... (completely black)

Image
^and somewhere in between (a cross bread of pink and black)

is this natural... or what?

yes those are different bodies because my body wouldnt stay there long enough for me to take three pictures but they are all mine

its because of the leopard black ground glitch, DW about it. If you have Halo full (UB) the black ground glitch thing goes away and i think its one of the problems that does that. kill urself on the ground not on base, on the base the black appears but not on grass

Post a bitmaps.ppf patch and I'll see if it's what I think it is. The code should stop this sort of thing from happening but it might be storing the image info in such a way to include alpha channels in DXT1. I assume the only thing modified is the cyborg bitmap right?

EDIT: i keep getting "status: failed"

Put ppf-master on the desktop. For some reason that works.

I can't figure out how to use the image importer. I choose the bitmap I want to change, click import, click load, and then the open dialogue comes up but all the files (jpgs and pngs) are grayed out. I also tried just dragging a file into the pop-up window (like in HMT) but nothing happened.

What am I doing wrong?

Also another question, probably really obvious, but when you import images is it internalizing them or is it putting them into the bitmaps file that you set in the preferences?

i didnt have to set bitmaps in prefrences, it puts them in the bitmaps that are in the folder with the BG map u load, as for importing images just click inject, not import

Injecting is for .dds files (I tried injecting a jpg just to test it and it told me it wasn't a valid file); is that all it can do?
