I'm assuming as of now, that its because then you need to sort out weather to expand it or not.
But then again you can expand from within esch, its not an essential part and I'm pretty sure Alt just wants to get the best things in first.

Well, if you wanted to expand it you could just open Eschaton by itself.

Null out the weapons in your bipd's tag and set starting weapons to generic.

Esplanation:

Double click Bloodgulch.map and Exchaton 0.7.1 openx, but only Exchaton 0.7.1, not Bloodgulch.map. You have to open Bloodgulch.map manually from within Exchaton.

My esplanation okay?

Yeah. Part of it is because it's implicitly linking the map file to Eschaton which by itself wouldn't be weird except Eschaton doesn't have a default response for something like that. If it had drag onto enabled then it'd probably open the map.
