I too think that the server is nice enough without mods. Though i don't know what mods are there out there. o_o

An useful feature could be teleportation! What mod is that? the one in which in console you write /tp followed by the code of the teleporter you want…?

x-ray mod shows chests, And people on the server have that so secret locations are almost useless. Making my chests x-ray proof. I would really like ymod, It "raises the roof" of the world to lile, 128,256, 512, 1024 etc

i host a small server for a few friends from time to time, i myself use bukkit
here are some plugins i use

lockette: allows you to lock your chest and doors with signs so you and if you with a few other people can use it

essentials: with essentials its just something that is just essential, it changes the basic minecraft chat system to make it more powerful for admins, there are all different add ons to the basic essentials plugin like essentials warp, essentials group, essentials spawn to name a few, essentials group allows the server owner to limit each players abilities, this works really well with most other plugins, this also has support for the nether

humiliation: humiliation adds commands to humiliate greifers, such as /throw, throwing the player up and then falling to their doom, /slap slaps 3 hearts off the player, but wont kill them, even if they are on less than 3 hearts

PorteCoulissante: its basically a plugin to make gates for castles, powered by red stone, they will go up and down



retractable bridge: the same as the PorteCoulissante plugin except its a bridge



Cookiez: zombies dont drop feathers, they drop cookies

i have a few others and all of these plugins only work with bukkit

I don't like the ranks and privileges etc, but I like the drawbridge.

I don't like the idea of using too much that's not already in the game. I like the idea of implementing things that only alter nonphysical things, like commands and such, but adding new items into the game... meh. I wouldn't be playing the real Minecraft then. However, CTF does look pretty cool, that would be one physical-ish thing I would be more fine with.
