Do you consider the SPV4 series of weapons mods cheating?

I think they are way to accurate for Ghost Recon, and make killing baddies way to easy and quite frankly, dumbing down the game. Why take they challenge out of the game?

It's a fun mod to have if your in a fragtastic mood, but it is in no way near realistic. Too powerful, too accurate, too quiet. No challenge.

Play a real weapons modification where someone actually put some time and effort into the ballistics of each weapon instead of a cheap uberpowerful weapons mod like the SPV series.

yea I'm more into the 7.62 mm mod by Thumper, version 1.5 - its more realistic.

SPV4 makes it too easy the scopes on regular weapons are way too surreal.

Somebody should really make a weapons mod that adds breathing to GhR . . . add a little movment to the cross-hair, especially the sniper rifles. That would make for a more interesting game

unless i am playing a "quake" mission like boom or ack, i don't use weapons mods -- stock weapons all the way

That would be nice... The Star Wars Battlefront ret system is kinda like that, except there are no MIPS (little things that show your accuracy/grouping when aiming). The reticle moves around the screen the more you are moving around. You can't shoot when running or jumping. Its a pretty nice set-up.

IMO, It has always been a bit too easy to line up shots in Ghost Recon, fortunately the slow MIPs make up for that. As long as the screen isnt all shakey like in RvS, i'm happy. lol.

heh, ya they are perfect for those! Infact i wouldn't suggest playing those missions without the SPV guns, lol!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, SPV4 = n00b toys

basically a loose interpretation of ret lock cheat, IMO. The people i see using them regularly are the ones that have the least amount of skill at the game. Therefore i call them n00b cannons.

Step up your game people, quit being such pie's and start playing with some realistic weapons mods, not this quake wannabe shite. Might as well be cheating........

.... and for the love of god please stop disgracing the Alpha Squad MOD with putting that name in the same title of the room description. Its a mochery of those weapons.

yea even though some of them got new computers/monitors they still host SPV4 when their original explanation was they couldn't see without them.

If you have your res down around 800 x 600 the game runs much faster and all of a sudden those stubby AS 1.3 zooms seem plenty long!

I get the odd feeling they just said that as an excuse...... and you know what we say about excuses...... they are like assholes, everyones got one, and they all stink!

Players who use ret lock guns (SPV4) are only cheating themselves..... when they actually have to play with more realistic weapons mods, they die, quickly.

Players will never get any better if they never challenge themselves.

BTW - I have made it my pledge to NOT join rooms hosting SPV4.

I've had enough dumming down of the game.

Sure were a lot of new peeps last night perhaps due to Cyberpsycho hosting SPV4 with the AS mod.
