Dock:
Okay the dock is a main part of your screen. I like no magnification cause its a real pain. Hiding is just annoying because it shows up again and again when a lot of the times you don't want it to. The left side works for me cause not much stuff is there, compared to the right where most desktop folders are kept unless you change it. I keep mine a decent size so its easy to see stuff.
Edgies:
Probably the first thing you notice is the little tabs sticking out of the side. For me they are a better version of stickies, the standard one they give you is sorta boring. Therefore I use edgies, they let the notes stick out of the side instead of full size they can be minimized and stuff. You have to pay 10 bucks for it, the demo puts up annoying pop-ups saying get the buy the real thing but after a while it stoped doing it. It has a lot of features such as putting a folder in a sticky so that when you click it you go directly to it.

Small folders:
I enjoy small folders and a zap to grid function, you can keep it strait and nice.
Apps on my dock:
I'm pretty sure you know what some of them are, but most of them are strange, some are school apps. The one you can make out best is iTunes. I changed the icon. You can change it simply by going to information and replacing it but the app CandyBar makes life easier.

It is a demo but the pop-ups for buying the real thing are small.
