Yes, but the reality factor is, a crystal just doesn't emit light. Sorry. If there was some sort of current or energy applied to it, then yes, I can see how it could. The other factor is, even though it is emitting light and heat, you'd still need an agent for the it either reflect, or absorb it. :/

I belive you are correct. as it is said in one of the books or somewhere in the expanded universe anyone can wield a lightsaber but will have extreme difficulty because it has no weight other than the handle. The force has nothing to do with the lightsaber itself but is needed to control the weapon skilfully.
