Mota your local baked dish reminded me of one from here. It's named after a local city.
THE NANIAMO BAR!

The armaments which thunderstrike the walls
And monarchs tremble in their capitals.
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Of lord of thee, and arbiter of war;
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils of Trafalgar.

These things are fantastically scrumptious! A chocolaty, coco nutty, crumbly bottom layer, covered with goopey icing stuff, and layered with chocolate!

I know Veen has showed me some amazing stuff that he eats involving leaves and rice and stuff. I don't know he showed me a picture and it was really cool. Anyway I live in DC and can't really think of anything unique to the area. I mean there are some really good restaurants and stuff but nothing really unique that I can think of.
I was in Germany for a while over the summer and they had a lot of really good food unique to Germany, especially Döner which is kind of like subway for turkish sandwich things (think gyros on steroids) there are probably people who can describe it better but that's what it was like from my perspective.

Donair.
We have it here too. Its essentially a meat sandwich made with thin slices of beef cut from a huge chunk on a metal bar that turns inside an oven all day. It is then placed in a type of flat bread.
