I strongly urge you to vote "no" on H.R. 418, the Real National ID Act.

What's wrong with H.R. 418 -- a bill we are told will stem the flow of illegal aliens through our porous borders? For starters, it does NOTHING to stem the flow of illegal aliens. Instead, H.R. 418 will:

1. Establish a national ID card.
2. Establish a federally-coordinated database of personal information on American citizens with Canada and Mexico.
3. Use the new national ID to track American citizens when traveling outside the U.S. -- and within the U.S.
4. Re-define "terrorism" in broad new terms that could include members of firearms rights and pro-life groups or other such groups as determined by whoever is in power at the time.
5. Authorize the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to unilaterly expand the information included in driver's licenses, including such biometric information as retina scans and DNA information -- and even radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking technology.

Terrorists want to destroy the unique American way of life. We shouldn't help them by passing H.R. 418. H.R. 418 will be another gigantic step toward making America a police state. The terrorists will then have won.

Yaba, I think you're just afraid of the future.

So the gov't. will know where Americans are at all times, so? I'm not afraid of a card and retina scan; Actually I think it's quite cool...

Heh, I'm also exempt of the ID because I'm underaged and I don't have my driver's license.

Oh and if you say that terrorists are trying to 'kill' our "unique American way of life" then you're some stoner from Alabama....Cuz that's not what they try and do. Terrorists bring TERROR....

You creating this post shows that you're an average American who thinks the universe is about us; blah blah blah; Terrorism isn't just against governments, it's against groups and people. The KKK are terrorists, technically. Personally,I think the bill will do the US good.

Oh and btw, most the people here can't vote either because of age or citizenship.

dude... u need to chill out.. dont u know that the government if they wanted to could track every move u made and every transaction u made through the bank
and they already have tracking devices out. they are called bio chips
and i have no doubt in my mind that someday when u get pulled over by a cop all they have to do is give u a retina scan and all your personal information will be there for him
but if any of u are into like conspiracy stuff go to www.blackvault.com i havent been there for a while but like 5 yrs ago i thought it was cool lol and i was into all that conspiracy theory stuff.

There ARE conspiracies in the US, but they don't deal with teh gov't; they won't be strong enough to overpower the nation's capitol...

That first part made no sense...'There'll always be conspiracies.' is the correct way of saying it...if you're not a neanderthal.
