What the hell is this all about? The point of being a superpower is not to play God and make all these little wars, its to keep the peace.

Like Teddy Roosevelt said, the secret to peace is "walk softly and carry a big stick." In other words, don't mess around in others affairs, but if your affairs are messed with, prepare to kick-ass.

Iran does not have a nuclear weapon program. Did you see the Nat. Security estimate? But Bush seems to ignore the evidence and continue to view Iran as a threat. Why do we care? We are not a global cop. Since it poses not threat to us, why would we spend trillions of dollars and put thousands or American lives in jeopardy?

You owe all your freedom to people who cared so much about politics that they went beyond arguing and decided to fight. If no one cared about politics, all of Europe and possibly the world would be known as the Third Reich... think about that.

^ Except, Pickoff, technically the Nazi's also were people who cared about politics, thus, if no one cared about politics then wars wouldn't happen.

If people didn't have their goddamn psychological need to control other people, we could just live off the land and trade using a simple barter system, and never have to yell at each other or kill each other ever again. But of course, that's all idealistic, so you all are likely to flame me. So, in advance, I'd like to say fuck you, if that is, you decide to flame me and yell at me for presenting information in a forum. If, in fact, you do choose to flame me, you're just proving my point that humans as a rule have an obsession with control, whereas if I don't agree with your way you'll yell at me until I either do agree with your way or until I shut up.

On another note, I do agree with Pickoff on the subject of peace, whereas we should all just shut up and stop bothering each other and acting like we can control the middle east and all the other little countries and every freaking place else.

Yeah, it was oil.
Did you know there's a state up north (not sure which) that has almost 3 times as much oil as the mid-east but if we drill in that state it might hurt some peoples feelings, so we're stuck with drilling in the mid-east. -.- retards
