Re: Once and for all.
I seriously was just about to post a topic about the entirety of this stuff going on... at least its already done
Still in progress:

Re: Once and for all.
The biggest "Glory Days" I can remember would be back between the time just before I started modding when I used to play in The Island servers with some of the people who are still around here and the time when I released Legacy and The Collective began. During this time Myself, TaxiService, Moxus, Mota, Zapconquest, Neko, Depp, Fonzie, Brimstone, Draconic, Pickoff, Andor, and probably some others I can't think of off the top of my head, were beginning to develop Halo modding into something big. We pushed things to the limits and cranked out at least 1 or 2 mods a week. There wasn't a single day that would go by that you couldn't find a new mod release topic, or several, sitting on the first page in the Halo Demo section. Nowadays, you're lucky if you go through 2 pages of that section and find a single release topic.
These were the "Glory Days," and I remember it was Brimstone's vision of preserving those Glory Days that caused him to create The Collective, to join together those modders who knew what we were doing. A shame that vision has not gone so far as we had hoped.

Re: Once and for all.
I would say lack of output, and lack of respect between modders. Lack of interest though is what caused some of our greater modders to leave, however, or to quit modding at least but still lurk around.
Re: Once and for all.
Make a video of you laughing at this, entire page and I will find you worthy enough to say that.

Re: Once and for all.
And, now this is where that "respect" thing I mentioned comes in. That goes for both of you.

Re: Once and for all.
I'd say the best days were last summer.Monk34 wrote:To everyone who thinks MGM had "Glory Days," it is impossible to bring those days back, if they did exist. Those days happened when almost everyone here was of about the same age, modding was much more primitive, and everyone was striving to find the next big thing. Now there are a lot of regular posters here, with many different ages and interests. [/color]

Then of course SwordEdit was in development and slowly improved and was released. Then QAR rolled out and later Eschaton 0.7. What a year in modding...
