Good for you.

While on Vancouver island I saw the two Kingston class Ships; HMCS Brandon and HMCS NanaimoH

And monarchs tremble in their capitals.
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Of lord of thee, and arbiter of war;
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils of Trafalgar.

Hey Devious, are there CF-18's based at Comox? I've just been working on this X-Plane movie that has some there...

According to my friend who is based there in the summer for flight-school with the air cadets, says there aren't "Officially" any combat fighters stationed there. He did say though that there's usually one or two there, but that they really aren't supposed to be there. He said it was a sort of dirty little secret in the airforce.

Oh and seafire, while you're at the airshow, I highly suggest staying as far away from any supersonic planes flight-paths. When I went to the show at abbotsford last year a CF-18 flew right over me while I was in the parking lot. I almost blacked out, and the shock wave (It was almost going supersonic) set off dozens of car alarms. :D

Lol, know what's fun? Being underneath a plane when it breaks the speed of sound. ;)

Yeah, the sheer thrust coming from the engines causes severe vibrations that can be enough to knock you out.

And a sonic boom at low level would likely have enough force to kill someone. So you can just imagine the kind of force that Airwolf would have caused, with a combination of rotor wash and a sonic boom, AND afterburning engines.

That shit was crazy... you gotta love the 80's. :D

This guy was just below supersonic, I really am surprised I didn't black out.

Bye guys. Going off to Maryland in about two hours. Luckily, I should have internet at both the houses I would be staying at. But I will be doing mostly other stuff, and will spend much less time on here due to Call of Duty 4 (and if that fails from boredom, Fallout 3).

Byez!

We had a helluva lot of heat-lightning in eastern Washington. I would so hate to live there. It took
forever to get to sleep.

Bleh. I know. Briiiiight.
I kept thinking some of it was going to eventually hit us.
Until I realized that heat-lightning is across and not down.
I think. Otherwise I was trippin'.

DEVIOUS, YOU LIE. O_O

At the start of the show the base's "Centennial Hornet" flew straight over me at just about supersonic, and I didn't even get close to blacking out, let alone feeling dizzy.

Anyway, it was pretty awesome, not only was there a shitload of CF-18's, but there were the Snowbirds, about a million acrobatic displays (One was a pitts special), even the Lancaster kept at the air museum in Hamilton, Ontario. It was escorted by 4 CT-155 hawks. I'll upload some of the footage I got to youtube. Just that I got a LOT of footage... so I'll work on it over a few weeks.
