Teamspeak Again?

It has been mentioned in a couple of topics of using Skype for meeting up and I'm wondering if it would be worth starting the MGM Teamspeak server back up. Is there interest in this now?

Teamspeak is pretty good. I personally prefer ventrilo, but it'd probably be harder to set that up than to restart the teamspeak server. Both are good because rather than always hearing everyone, people push a button to talk. Also allows a lot more people at once.

Consider mumble, http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

I would not touch teamspeak or ventrilo if my life depended on it, especially on OS X, where the programs are atrocious and lacking in updates. They are what I define as evil.

With only a couple of people, iChat or Skype are not bad choices.

I think Mga and I either did FaceTime or iChat that one time.
And don't use Skype, it makes your computer run so much more slow than just using iChat.

If you have a noticable difference when running skype as opposed to not, your computer sucks.

It's actually not noticeable, but I looked at apps like Activity monitor to see how fast my computer went and how much bandwidth it uses when I use either Skype or iChat, and iChat uses less. Both idle and video/audio chatting.

I've used both but the main reason for Teamspeak over Ventrilo here is Teamspeak allows more users for free than Ventrilo.

I've looked at mumble but have never used it. Would everyone prefer mumble for this?

I used Teamspeak a bit back in the ClanHalo days.
I've used Mumble and Ventrilo for about 10 minutes each.

Quick look shows that Mumble may be preferable.

If we would get something we had to pay for, we might as well just use the chat feature on GameRanger.

To use your mic to speak you need to have silver or gold.

Oh, well screw that. GR was never all that great to begin with.

No. Gameranger sucks. I don't know anything about mumble, but I'm open to it.
