I'm more inclined to find credible that the entire universe was created for life, and as humans are the most important life on Earth (and Earth is the only place in the universe where there is life), then that means essentially that the universe was created (or exists, for you anti-creationalism-ists (or whatever they're calling it nowadays)) for humans. But this requires more research if you will disprove that life at this point will not just pass away like the dinosaurs. The Bible actually has that information, but not everyone is willing to read it, much less accept it.

You see, people use Gestalt.

Sparky, I am both Christian and an evolutionist.
The armaments which thunderstrike the walls
And monarchs tremble in their capitals.
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Of lord of thee, and arbiter of war;
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils of Trafalgar.

Haven't read through this topic, but some of you are so pessimistic about nothing meaning anything!
Think of this: If we are nothing but a cloud of matter amid a much larger cloud of matter, than are we doing nothing but interpreting ourselves! If our universe can be seen as nothing but the simplest of matter being smelted into heavier matter through the stars and various celestial events, then the interpretation of our own universe is simply as we wish it to be. The point is that there IS no point. We try to constantly expand our island of knowledge in a sea of wonder, yet seldom realize that we are just displacing the water, raising more questions than we answer and broadening the shores of mystery.

God DAMN this pizza is good.

Tokage, you say there is no point but is the point not to constantly expand our island?
