any of you cunts write poetry?

after thoroughly embarrassing myself the other day by posting poetry in Sparkie's thread I decided to write more poetry

but better! (maybe I think)

brace for faggotry

"linen is softer when you're alone"

'it could have been',
that's what he said
lying beside me, unseen
in my bed

room for two, the salesman said.
no room for one,
though you may you stretch your arms,
lift your flimsy arms to fill the gaps,

the swathes of sheets,
dunes of loneliness.
i twist them around me,
revel in the feeling!

linen feels nice when there's nothing else there.

'it could have been; what could have been',
i mumble to myself, lost in the soft, soft world.

Anyone else?

Think before you post topics. Idiot.

Oh, really? You, of all people want to reprimand me on being considerate to others?

I made this topic because there was a slight positive response when I posted my poetry not long ago, and a potential interest. If you want to get into thinking before you post, can I direct your attention to your bigoted 'RELIGION IS TEH BEST' posts.

But whatever, I'm not going to turn this thread into some shit slinging match. Post poetry, discuss it or get the fuck out.

What is you problem, RIPz? Think before you post, jackass.

Anyway no. I don't think i've ever tried to compose a poem.
As I already said, I'd probably try to make the lines rhyme with each others too much; and use the same numbers of syllables and all that jazz. : \

Anyway it's not bad stuff, yo. You should, uh, post all yer poems somewhere.

Poetry's always been one of the few ways I've been able to express myself easily. Always came to me pretty easily, and it's a great way for talentless bastards like myself to crank out something that's theirs without spending 20 hours composing something.

Besides, write up some poems in italian and the ladies will be all over your schlong. It's such a pretty language.

I'll totally post a couple more once I find them and transcribe them to the 'puter.

We need more topics like this. Something that many people can agree upon and contribute to without a flame war.

Looks like someone hates poetry. Your religion impose rules like "Love thy neighbor", yet you attack people in their own topics. You're so hypocritical, it's disgusting. You people are the reason why people hate Christianity.

Anyway...

The stars, the sky,
summer moon and horizon
blotted at night,
the garished streets in the light

The autumn approaches
the evening advances
the lights turn on
the stars are gone

At morning they dim
The sunlight arrives
Yet nobody sees
the stars in the skies

I-i guess ladies over here don't really care about poetry anymore. At least, the vast majority of them.
But hey, probably the remaining ones would be the interesting ones! So hey! That'd be good! : )

b-but, like, i... i don't know what to write about. Well, actually i've got so freaking much to write about; but it never happened to me to desire to express myself via poetry. I've really gotta try, but idk where to start from. : |

Get high as fuck and think about shit. Write it down and make it rhyme it all up when sober.
Of course, you can just go the Lil Wayne route and replace all the words you can't rhyme with "Nigger".

Poetry has never really been a 'sit down and write some' kind of activity. I'd be in the middle of something, get struck with an idea and then just go from there. It's why I carry a little notepad wherever I go, though I also use it to jot down song ideas, otherwise they would be lost forever. And rhyming has never really been a big part of my poems. Whenever I do it the poem seems to somehow morph into a limerick.

I just take ideas and try to make them sound pretentious with pretty words.

I like it, man. Seems like you're relating the stars in the sky to yourself being overshadowed by something. Seasonal changing, maybe the dreading of a certain event which you think trivializes yourself? Please correct me if I'm reading too far into it :P

Anyway, I found another one of mine which I posted on reddit a little while back.

----------

[summer twilight blues]

The summer twilight clouds,
floating helplessly above us

My summer midnight frowns,
drowned so well in red

and so say you I go,
and I do,
lie weeping tears of fire unto my bed.

Your summer afternoon smiles,
held up so carefully by unknown futures;
a path not taken, a promise shattered,
a catapult of vitriolic bile.

Another day, suspended in the half light,
floating, gleaming in summer twilight.

----------

I like to write about beds a lot. After all, it's where I spend ~70% of my time.

Sven is a pretty cool guy. Nice poetry <3

Bitterness first chills, then warms the soul.
Joy, dried, crumbles into sincere thoughtfulness.
It pertains yet, life's pascals
Threatens to suffocate
And weighs upon the shoulders:
Heavy as the Earth, dense like mercury,
Yet realized, is lighter than light, albeit temporally slight.
I smile with a surrendered happiness
And sleep with pleasurable heartache.
Is this humanly? Maturity?
Or do I exaggerate, feign desperate?
Perhaps time can tell, if I grow and know.
Sundry poetry, lived, learnt, and wrote.
I seek love, but it does not elude me.
I seek life, but it plentifully surrounds me.
Sought what was sought,
Yet pause, content with none,
Rest left with loneliness,
The seeker of ought soughts.
