Some mavericks help.

Post by Mota-Lev » Sat Jul 05, 2014 5:15 pm

Ok so i've gotten a new laptop recently and I am pissed cause none of my stupid games work because they are PPC.. so I'm asking what are some methods I can get them to run aside from chucking this new computer off my balcony and getting an old one.

Also general why has apple gone to shit thread? their commercials suck their products suck. What is happening.. everything is changing and not for the better its getting worse.

You're a kangaroo.

Rise of Nations, Homeworld II, Starcraft, Ghost recon, Warcraft III, oni, XIII and a few other games I'm forgetting.

It looks like Apple still sells Snow Leopard, probably because they want 10.5 and 10.4 users to update to 10.9. Snow Leopard comes with Rosetta in the installation DVD, which enables the old PPC games to run, though as nil wrote below, this isn't advisable. A few people on HaloMD dual-boot Snow Leopard (10.6) or run it in a virtual machine. It's probably less costly than buying an old computer, though. You may want to try to find newer versions of the software before trying this route, though.

As far as I know Warcraft III has a UB patch, however hard that may be to obtain (installer might be PPC).

P.S. I don't advise running 10.6 natively on a new Mac.

P.P.S. Software lives off of updates. The reason none of the old games work is either because none of them received updates from developers for many years, or you had not updated them (e.g, warcraft III).
I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!
