The 486-kilo-man

US-American Patrick Deuel: mountains of pizzas and Burritos consumes

Physicians set Patrick Deuel out of the US-country Nebraska on a severe diet. A large transposition for a man, who consumed mountains of pizzas and Burritos. Until few months ago wog it 486 kilograms.

The 42-year-old Patrick Deuel out of the US-state Nebraska decreased kilo in the past months 145 and wants to become further 200 loose. He has been for June in a hospital in Sioux if (South Dakota) and becomes under severe supervision of a physicians team more slimly.

486 kilograms - "one would stand five 93 kilos of men heavy together on some scales before", clarifies a medical specialist journal. According to published reports of the Thursday, the American belonged therewith to the previously heaviest persons. The previous record lies in 634 kilos, that a US-citizen brought Washington out of the country on the scales. It died 1983 at the age of 42 years.

Severe diet with 1200 calories per day Deuel is supposed to be saved this fate. Physicians set it on a severe diet with 1200 calories per day, that he gets serves in five little portions. That is a large transposition for a man, who was lived it to consume mountains of pizzas and Burritos. "However now see I finally light at the end of the tunnel", quotes the newspaper "Argus Leader" the former restaurant manager who had brought it already in the kindergarten age on 85 pounds.

"Horizontally challenged" : the insatiables

According to the newspaper the about 1.80 meter of man large carried so many kilos on its bone that it the death threatened. It led at heart problems, diabetes, sign gland illness and heavy Arthrose - "it was only a question of the time, time short", describes Deuel, that its house in Nebraska had not left for seven years, until it an Ambulanz brought in June to the drastic Abspecken into the hospital.

It was no simple venture. First of all Deuel gewogen had to become - on the basis of its mass on some cattle scales. Then all clinics in homeland vicinity rejected its reception because the treatment expensive approximately three million dollars is carried only in part by its health insurance. "The doors became us again and again before the nose slammed", remembers Deuels woman Edith. "The clock tickte always louder for my husband." Finally an auxiliary organization interfered would become", the "league for human. It found a hospital in Sioux if in the neighboring state South Dakota, that wanted to receive it with Deuels Pfunden.

Carrier per would carry and had to be found gave ramps however first of all an ambulance for the patient, and that it again only in Denver (Colorado). It was would carry a with an extra large and stable and ramps of equipped vehicles. In the clinic, the Deuel directed on an oxygen device lies now on beds bound two to each other, and a team by sisters and caretakers is required in order to turn around it on the mattress. Goal is be endure can it that patients to let so strongly abspecken, that heavily attacked heart an operation to the stomach reduction.

It always more frequently is carried out in the USA - then the Americans become always more thickly. Already almost two-thirds of that well 290 million US-citizens count as overweight, million quite as a fettleibig. The US-government has meanwhile the health enemy of the nation the battle angesagt. So about the calories share sugar share and fat share ! are supposed to be indicated in the future on groceries packings.

Its largest wish: walk Deuel go has it doubly heavily: its Fettleibigkeit is not only on extreme appetite to lead back, but rather also genetically stipulates according to its physicians. In spite of the loads, it never lost the "Argus Leader" according to however its optimism. Now it looks go walking can toward the day, at that it with its woman home in Nebraska - are largest wish. Moreover it wants to put one day with all the nurses, who look after it, a brisk Tänzchen on the parquet.

5-6 years ago i worked for a food delivery service and one night i delivered food to an obeist/bed riden woman that weighed at least 400 pounds. Her house was dark and stank of BO. She couldnt get out of her couch/bed. I had to open her food for her and set it on the table so she could reach it. I felt so bad for her. I really didn't want to let her have all the food she got, and let me tell you it wasnt a small portion. She didnt tip that well either, casue she spends all her money on food.

So sad. :(

I couldnt imagine not being able to get out of my house let alone my couch.
