The Patch

Haven't tried it yet. One question. Do you run the updater for the RvS app or the RvS No CD app? Or does it make a difference. I'm thinking no difference but I ran it on the regualar app anyways.

EDIT: Seems that the No CD key doesn't work with the new patch.

I think all you have to do is take the .app and change the version number. I dunno how to do it but maybe someone else can figure it out.

I don't want this to be about the No CD app tho. What does everyone think about the patch? I like it (a lot) this is a long needed update I finally get a reasonable frame rate in RvS so I can start playing it again. Best rates are usually with 20 or less terrorists and like 4 rainbow operators in a terrorist hunt type game.

I haven't really notice a frame rate improvement. Although I don't always have frame rates on so unless the patch really improved my frame rates I wouldn't notice.

I can say its really improved mine. I can actually play a full game with the graphics almost at maximum and get pretty good frames. Now that the patch is out I started playing MP too so I'm a happy camper.
Does anyone know what the Mods folder is for (Mods... duh) but I mean has anyone actually came out with a mod that will work on it? I'm assuming that it works something similar to the Unreal Tournament Mods but I've yet to see any maps/mods that actually use it. I'm guessing we'll have to wait to see the SDK for the PC world to start working on Mac Mods but hey at least its a step in the right direction for Aspyr...

Well I found that since the older (small!) disc img for the previous version of the game is no longer usable, that my FPS dropped. So I made a new, local version of the disc img (full size, readable only) from the CD and FPS is back up to where it was before.

PS This doesnt apply to the patch but does anyone else notice an assault rifle mag in the MTAR-21?

I have two theories on the Mods folder. The first is that it is a step towards us getting Athena Sword. The second is that it was added to help us keep up with PC version of the game.
