Do High Pings... ?

Do high pings keep you from joining certain game rooms?

For instance i usually wont join a room if I am pinging over 150 on it. In my experience in the past its just not worth it to me if my ping is too high, unless it is a sniper map. CQB and hi pings just dont mix.

Yea, I won't join a room if the ping is high. Also, depending on the amount of people in the room I won't join even if the ping is good. My comp just doesn't like big games. 8)

im not too sure if there's a setting u can do in the .ini files to keep high pings out of your game room.. I'm sure u can do that in Quake 3 and RTCW, i will have a look maybe :P

i had a look, and i don't think u can make a ping limit in the UT engine

i don't think any ping over 200 is a lag killer :P so don't worry, it's for sure that you will get 100+ ping if your connecting to a euro server

High pings seem to play fine on my server (thanks to Pres' ISP for intermittingly let him "test" that in the evenings lately)....

Players from Europe or the far corners of the north american continent often have pings close to and over (Europe) 200. They seem to play just fine on my box.

When I join a UK or European mainland server it does not work quite the same way, for me its seems, it can be unplayable. I wonder what gives.
