Adding mappacks: RvS: Athena Sword stops working

Well now.

Technically this is Athena Sword related but I'm just being picky.

Also, I have Raven Shield: Athena Sword working and am able to host with it.

As soon as I add content from say COOP GREATEST HITS - I can no longer join/launch/host any games.

I figure it is some sort of .ini problem.

But there is just no reasonable logic for this to be happening. As such, I can't join games at hosts who are hosting map packs (that I made, even...).

Guess I'll try hand carrying the files over but then why have an installer...

i installed athena sword directly on raven shield that had coop hits installed... i had problems playing games, it was so slow and stuff... and in beginning of games.. sometimes i get .ini errors and stuff, i had to completely reinstall rvs and athena sword..
but this time i didn't install the coop greatest hits and it worked fine

interesting....... i havent noticed any sort of performance issue, and i just re-installed teh Coop greatest hits, and have been hostinbg it without any noticeable difference. Allthough The_unKNown mentioned something to me yesterday about this very same issue.

Is it possible that the installer might have some sorta spyware that is taking all the resources?

Like i said, i'm not experiencing this problem, bu ti will remove the mappack from my server until the issue is resolved.

I left all my maps installed when I installed Athena Sword. Have you tried repairing your permissions? Maybe something with the installer and AS are screwing up your game's permissions. You could also try deleting your Raven Shield preferences. That sometimes works.

I repair my permissions everytime i install something new.

and I run my scripts with onyx daily as well.

gotta keep this ship nice and toight.

i dunno if that's your problem, but it's a start.

I have one computer that i installed Greatest hits after i got Athena Sword, and one computer that the greatest hits was already on before i installed Athena Sword. No noticeable difference here.
