come one ppl - no one will benefit from playing illegal mac games!! Why would anyone here do this? If you cannot afford a game now - then SAVE for it. Surely you'd complain if Aspyr didn't release CoD2 on the Mac due to piracy??? I would....the mac gaming world is small enough - don't kill what little is left.

i can understand your logic behind that, as you're basically treating them like demos. And you'll only be buying the games you liked playing, but that is still illegal. I wouldn't really have mentioned it on a public forum if i was u :p

No... it isn't.

I just figured I'd get the Demo Version though. It is awesome.

iwdsum/namemismatch error normally is caused by too many IWD files. This is usually a result of tons of maps or mods being installed. This can also be caused if 2 maps/mods are conflicting with each other.

An easy way to get fix this is take some of the custum maps/mods out. Another way to fix this isn't as easy but will also work. Go here for the other fix.

When hosting you can only have a certain amount of 3rd party maps/mods in the main folder.

So when you host pull most of the 3rd party maps/mods out of that folder and drop them in a different folder so when you join a different server that is running those mods you can put them bak in there without having to redownload them.

Here's an example of what a stock game folder should look like:

Call Of Duty 2 Data/

/pb
/main
localization.txt
servercache.dat
cod.png

/main

/demos (if you have any)
/localizedstrings
/players
/save
/screenshots (if you have taken any)
/sound
/ui
/video
games_mp.log
hunkusage.dat
iw_01.iwd
iw_02.iwd
iw_03.iwd
iw_04.iwd
iw_05.iwd
iw_06.iwd
iw_07.iwd
iw_08.iwd
iw_09.iwd
iw_10.iwd
iw_11.iwd
iw_12.iwd
iw_13.iwd
iw_14.iwd
iw_15.iwd
localized_english_iw01.iwd
localized_english_iw02.iwd
localized_english_iw03.iwd
localized_english_iw04.iwd
localized_english_iw05.iwd
localized_english_iw06.iwd
localized_english_iw07.iwd
localized_english_iw08.iwd
localized_english_iw09.iwd
localized_english_iw10.iwd
localized_english_iw11.iwd

If it's setup like that than you won't have a problem hosting.

If you want to host some 3rd party maps, only put a few of them in there, you'll find ut if you have to many when you get the IWDsum mismatch error.

Hope that helps.

I'm testing the mod launcher so if everything goes fine with that then it should be out soon. Evill has said that GameRanger will add CoD 2 support. He just hasn't said when he will do that.

There's supposed to be a GameRanger update today sometime. Maybe the CoD2 support as well? Would be kinda nice.

The update is also said to require 10.3.9 or later. That's gonna leave a few people pretty unhappy.

What are trying to mod? You should see the .iwd files.

also, you can mod the .iwd files by changing .iwd to .zip
the only file you need to mod is .iwd 13
i used .zip, but once your done, how do you get it back to .iwd?
i tried changing the extension manually, but it didnt work
also, can you take these mods online in non-pure servers?
i dont think they'll work in pure ones
and can you host a server with these mods?
