CoD2 freezes up...

so ive been playing the game for a while now and just a few weeks ago my game started acting up... like it would start repeating a sound over and over then the game would freeze up and i would have to pull the cord out... and sometimes it would just freeze up with out the sounds repeating... i dont know if its cause i installed duel 8800 GTX or what but its started doing this a few after i installed them... i took em out and put my old video card in again and it still done it... ive try reinstallin the game still done it... but im too the point to where im lost... ne ideas yall have im all ears...
