Spore 1.1 update: anyone able to install it?

I just got Spore and tried to update it to version 1.1, which enables the new cheats and fixes some minor bugs. But when I downloaded the update from EA, and selected the Spore app icon, the patch said it couldn't be used with the current version.
Anyone ever been able to get it to work? Thanks

Maxis won't support the mac version anymore, the last update won't download and trying to makes it crash.

Thank god I will soon be able to dump all the guys that dont support both sides fairly, and work with Valve and Blizzard. I like them, so long as Valve makes sure we can use mods, Gmod, and all the other custom goodies (Hammer and tools, amirite?) that come with their games. Otherwise why bother. Ill just get it on the xbox...

EDIT: wait a sec though... o_o i think i successfully installed the update! since i can use the evoadvance cheat and all the shit... o_o
or... was it an older thing?

- -Anyway, is there someone who plays spore here? like, i like that game quite a lot, you know? the galactic adventures expansion is something interesting i think! i tried to torrent it many times, but there was a glitch every time about animations not working and shit... so i think i'm just gonna buy it one day or another... >_>

I have it. Got it off a friends disc. As for online I'd need to register and my laptop is still in the shop.
