Oh lol. Damn, i thought AK47s were lighter. Probably because my only sources of informations about them have been GTA:SA and CoD:MW2. >_>

it's probably the lack of damage on the gun that's throwing you off. I might have to add some, but I don't even know how.

It should be easy enough with a tablet. Otherwise, use a pencil tool to draw thin lines of a silver/gunmetal colour along the edges and areas that are going to bump and scrape a lot.

Very nice. Not sure if it's the perspective, but the iron sights don't look properly aligned. Did you make the model as well, or just the skins?

I got a free copy of 3ds max (They have a thingy that's free for students)
I don't actually uh, know how to model x3 I do however, know how to move vertices!
