Mac Gaming Mods

Can you guys help me here? One of my friends got Halo 2 Vista and we both want to know good ways to mod it. So are there any tools you guys recommend, also, are there any differences between PC and Mac modding? I would change my pants if they had anything CLOSE to Eschaton for Halo 2.
