This is a rather old MMORPG. It's set in space, off of the Escape Velocity series, but it's turn- and text-based. However, the game quality doesn't suffer. It's extremely complex, it has an IRC channel, people are scheming and planning all the time...

There was recently a big reset (and a new php galaxy was implemented) so now is a good time to start playing. It's remarkably easy to setup an account and start playing
