Update on production of " SpecOps Grunt: the Campaign story"

Post by §harkÉ » Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:06 am

hey guys! Maybe some of you remember me showing the trailer for this a while ago...

It's nearly done!...It's at 90% done already. Just gotta refilm some scenes, add more HUZZAH! to the ending, and some sound effects.

SpecOps Grunt story:
a little SpecOps grunt has been brought to the Elite Commander, as he has been accused for many incidents that caused the Demon ( aka the Masterchief ) to triumph against the Covenant. Accusations include not leading the squads attacking the Pillar of Autumn, sleeping when holding the marines prisoner on Halo, and accidently taking the Masterchief and his marines up into the Truth and Reconciliation with the gravlift.

Now the masterchief is about to play the Silent Cartographer level.

What will the Grunt do next ?

Info: This is a machinima performed by human actors AND AI, together. My friends and I have worked on this project for about 2 months now. We have been slacking on it a lot, though...hehe
This machinima uses the maps; CovyCarto, B30, bloodgulch, a10, a30, a50. Halo Full AND Demo.

well, here are some production stills..

As you can see, the bitmaps on the elites are still of the original...

If I were to put MY bitmaps on it, I'd have to refilm like half the whole movie = =

and here's the trailer.

DId you use CE for this or did you find some way to have two different bipeds at a time. or is it sneaky film editing?

I take it back. You don't deserve a Sherlock costume. You need one.

EDIT:
Well, on the trailer..

The editing is fine, I guess. Nothing special. There are some qualms I have, and they are as follows:

• Font, font, font. Choosing the right font to suit the theme of the video is always essential. In this case, not really suitable. A modern-ish font would do much better.
• The background music is too loud, making it difficult to hear what's actually being said.
• Why is Master Chief holding a Battle Rifle? They didn't even exist then.

That's it. It's a cool concept, I guess. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.
