Some people go away for a time and miss out on reading the latest posts for several days.

Version 0.1 pre-alpha 2 has been released. Click the main logo in the first post to download it.

I revised the interface some more, because I'll be using hover text sparingly, and a lot of help text for the meta data editor.

Here is what I'm planning on doing for the next version:
Next version is 0.1 and will feature a fully-usable meta data editor. None of the other features will work, in all likelihood, but the map info will be displayed and you can change the map name, loading screen and loading text.

To use the meta data editor in the next version, do:

1. File -> Open Map
2. Click on your map in the top left list
3. Click on the tag type in the middle list
4. Click on the tag in the right list
5. Click on the Meta tab and edit away!
6. Build your map (it will be CSS no matter what you do in this version, so don't worry about that)
7. Open the map in Halo / Halo Demo / Halo CE and play.
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

I should send you one of my many leopard disks. I literally have a cabinet full of disks. And I have no idea what is on them. I swear I found iLife 08, pirated Avatar, and Global Warming graphs all in the same case. But at least half of them are OS X disks.

Zang, I'll see what I can do. I will probably be able to make this compatible with a PPC running 10.4. I don't see any drawbacks with doing that. But if I do see drawbacks, I'll tell you what they are.

I'll start writing the code very soon, perhaps beginning at the end of this week. I've been preparing to start writing it for about a week now, brainstorming and educating myself.

See you on the flip side of version 0.1 !

Expected features of Zeus 0.1, codenamed "Meta", include, but are not limited to, the following:

- open halo 1 map files
- view, modify and save the hex code of opened map files
- view, modify and save the meta data of all tag types within a map file
- the most intuitive and simple interface that I will keep striving to achieve (an open-ended goal)

As before, I will label each of these items in GREEN when they are completed, so check back here for updates :)

The only ones that I have encountered is the inability to use accessor methods (which are not necessary they are just to save you from extra typing) and Grand Central Dispatch, which is a 10.6 tech anyway.

I haven't heard of those two before you mentioned them here; I know 10.5 is the first support for Garbage Collection, which I don't intend to use anyway.
