Although I have no real arguable reasons for this, I'd suggest trying Blender before Wings3D. They are both free, as far as I know.

Also, check out the tools page at HDM for more graphics applications: http://tools.halodemomods.com/
Whenever I try importing it it doesn't work. It says there's an error. Wazzup with that.

Hey asshole, you asked how to import OBJ into wings and he told you how, use your brain. You cannot manipulate anything if you don't even know how to Import an OBJ file which you STILL cannot do. Not to mention I specifically told you myself that NO ONE HERE besides myself knows how to manipulate a model.

And just to make sure we're on the same page, you did so here.
VashM16 wrote:Thanks to everybody.

Okay wait, how to I open the OBJ in Wings3D?
Please just answer this last question and I'm done
. :P
Now, show some respect to your fellow members and don't complain that the people trying to help you are bitching.

>hey asshole

…why? There were clearly some misunderstandings.

Zanghfei didn't mean to sound mean or bitchy, the SEARCH B4 POSTING!! thing was just his way to encourage Vash, a potential ’noob‘ to his eyes, to use the search function.

Why did Vash react like that in the post following Zanghfei's? Because in the thread titles only "Importing" could be read, while he was looking for "exportng". This fact plus the hostility that he felt coming from Zanghfei's post drove him to post that reaction. (that in my opinion had nothing wrong in it)

In fact, if you notice the post following it, he is asking for more help. Now, i suppose Vash doesn't know how/didn't think to edit his post and just double posted.

Zanghfei replied with an almost incomprehensible post and then you, Kioyshi, replied with more hate.

Now, what i mean is: hate won't bring anyone anywhere. Why don't we all just try and help this guy kindly? Do we really always need to be so cocky towards new members?
I know nothing on the matter, otherwise i would have already written a tutorial about it and shit. >_> You should do it too or something! (Kiyoshi ∧/∨ Sparky) Afterall, what is knowledge's use if it is kept only for oneself?

I gave the info he asked for, how to manipulate a model. I gave instructions and provided information to websites where he can learn such a thing. There is absolutely no benefit whats so ever to place a tutorial (with all due respect to monoman) on a dead modding website where such tools cannot even be used correctly due to the software differences.

He asked -again- how to import a Model, which Zang answered correctly. Almost every one of those tuts, including the oldest ones explain how to import a model INTO wings. Which is what he asked for here.

Zang told him the tuts, and even linked them. He answered the question he was handed just as sparky did. Vash's hostility was NOT required and I am hostile when someone is hostile to another first. Zang was NOT hostile, he simply said for Vash to look at said Tutorials and actually LOOK and READ them correctly. Which he did not do, had he done so, he would have realized his own error. We ALL know OBJ is a faulty program and that it hardly ever works.

Ah okay then! I didn't realize. :P

BTW if you re-read my previous post i tried to explain that Vash felt hostility coming from Zang's post. This doesn't necessarily imply it was a hostile post (since it wasn't), but just that sometimes people can interpret words not as the OP meant them.

Vash: Yeah, anyway read those tuts if you didn't already! Then if you need help more specifically try asking.

Zang: o_o There is never too much Ace Attorney. <3 Phoenix Wright

1. I am sorry Zang, for misunderstanding you, and for bitching about your, as I called it, bitching.
I reacted that way partly because I felt I was being overloaded with answers and I felt as though Zang was refering to me as stupid in a way. But Zang I understand your... um... yelling, and I am sorry.
2. I'm a hypocrite.
3. Thank you Zang for the tutorials, I haven't tried them yet, but I'm sure they will work.
4. And lastly, what I was saying was that when i tried Importing the piece Wings gave me in error in both old and new versions, so I hope Zang's Links will help me.
Have a nice day, and please do treat yourself.

Now that we're back to discussing things, what errors did you get when you opened the .obj file? And yes, the instructions that came with OBJConverter should help you.
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

You shouldnt get any errors if you hit import wavefront(obj) and select the file.

I did this exact thing.

It said "Internal Error - log written to /Users/User/wings_crash.dump"
I tried multiple parts of the spartan, still didn't work.
