Well, to be clear, malolo did the major part of the conversion which was changing the CE bsp into a scen tag with coll, bitm and all the like. Now, here's a great twist: Mgulch actually borrows parts of its bsp from existing full version bsp sections. And just because you borrowed something from full into CE, it's still using bungies content. While it's on CE it's legitimate because you have to have full in order to have CE. But converting bungie's IP to demo regardless of whether it was laundered through CE is still piracy.

If I can remember, somewhere in the EULA or the ToS/ToA (w/e), that we are not even allowed to begin with any form of modification or reverse engineering on the copyrighted content to begin with. But... It seems to me Bungie doesn't care as long the stuff aren't transfered with each other (Full->Demo). (Or scratch that if I'm wrong <_<)

It isn't technically legal to rip stuff in CE because you are required to have Halo full (windows) key with Halo CE, because CE requires a windows version key to work and not having a CE technically means it's illegal still to rip. Even if it is user created content (better ask for permission =.=). What Alt has said is correct.

Not all CE stuff is user created, anything in CE that is in full except by actual user created content ripping that is illegal. That includes some Halo 2 stuff in there, don't lie to yourselves the supposedly halo 2 stuff is user created because even they rip the stuff from Halo 2. So you need a good eye to tell if it is copyrighted or not.

halo 2 was a failure
halo 3 is ok but my friends are dicks and only play co-op story mode and wont play slayer so i just start betraying them then they betray me so i just start playing slayer by that

Modding and hacking are two different things like pie and cake =3, there no legal version. (cake)

By the DMCA you are allowed to modify or reverse engineer only for personal use, only for you as long as you own it legally, and not for public distributing.

Microsoft owns rights to Halo, they can do w/e they want w/ it. No point of wanting Halo 2 in pc.. It's a piece of shit. Bad port (stupid mouse acceleration, mouse lag, high ass specs for such low end graphics compared to most high ass pc games these days), retarded windows live service, and wtf can't even go to your own server if your host (U can host but cant even go to your own server), severely limited HEK (By Hired Gun <-- The porters), crapier than the HEK by GBX from halo 1. No questions asked.

Speaking of illegalities... I recently received an email from accounts@FileFront.com because of a copyright infringement. All I had uploaded on my account was like four Halo Demo maps. Here's a copy of the email:
