I think we just just make this a mod hosting site for MGM.

Since www.edgefiles.com suck.

And some people hate fagfront.

And some people also hate mediafire.

This is actually what came to mind when I read the first few sentences of your first post. Excellent idea. You just have to make sure that the pages are linked together some way and that there is a list of all mods and links to their respective pages. Another way we could do this, without the hassle (if it is a hassle) of subdomains is we could have a wiki. This way, if other people discover interesting new info about a mod they could add to the wiki, and if there are some mods where the creators are not around anymore, it'd still be possible to have info on those mods. Of course with a wiki you need lots of support from the community, which might not be possible or worth it to obtain.

The special emails thing is really cool too. Before hdmods.net closed down, I used to have an email zapconquest@hdmods.net, which was pretty interesting to give out to people.

Sorry, but hdm.com is in use by First American Flood Data Services, Inc., a company apparently based in Virginia.

We could have a wiki, and I like the idea of having players contribute information about mods, also.

As far as the e-mail idea, it wouldn't be a replacement for the PM-ing here at MGM, but it could be used for general contacts, too, or however else you'd like.

Here's some info about the server:

http://www.westhost.com/big-10-special.html

- 50 GB of disk space
- 1 TB of bandwidth
- 1,000 e-mail addresses
- Unlimited number of websites (ie, domain names and completely separate sites)
- Virtual Private Server (better than a server shared with other people)
- Dedicated IP

The included applications feature support for:
- Blogging
- Wikis
- phpBB forum
- Guest books
- Photo Albums
- Web-based e-mail
- E-commerce
- Password-protected directories (ie, for private use)
...but, of course, we can use this however, and add anything to it.

Note that there is a 50 Gig hard drive, so we can't just put anything on it... in other words, there is a limit to the space, so we should certainly keep things on the site directly related to Halo Demo.

It would be fun to have it as integrated as possible with MGM. Monoman has already sent me some info on how we could synchronize the mod database between the two sites, so it will most likely serve in a role of actually hosting the mod files, for example, rather than using EdgeFiles, FileFront or MediaFire.

Although true, I'm sorry that I haven't done a better job as Moderator. I've been very tired from School and such, and with less free time then I used to have.
