Thanks,
In answer to your question, I am no expert, but it seems like you could do something similar with that dropship as with the Pelican. You should be able to. Just use the same process as with putting the Pelican into Bloodgulch.

I can't test the mod out because I don't have full anymore on my laptop. I do on my PC which is back in Maryland. (I'm in South Carolina until the 23rd).

You can't import a dropship to bloodgulch because it doesn't import the driver. And... even if you were to make the dropship drivable by editing the dropshop_driver to W-driver... you'd have a shitty camera angle. It's not possible.

Amen.

Island would be way better. There is more room and more usefulness for it. Either replace the Pelicans with it, or you could just put them somewhere else. You could also do a Covenant vs Human on the Island, and the Covenant have Ghosts and the dropship.

Just my humble opinion,
Moxus

P.S. I think everyone should know, if not already know, that the Covenant dropship in Halo: Combat Evolved is called the Spirit dropship. We should probably use it's proper name instead of just "the dropship".
Again, just my humble opinion :D.

You "can" import the dropship into bloodgulch... but it'd be pointless... It doesn't import the driver.

If you use W-driver, you can still have dropship style driving (it hovers and moves around just like a dropship) if you change the Vehicle I.D. to pelican/dropship. I can't try this out because I can't get hhk to work so I can't import the dropship, but I know you can get hogs to fly like dropships with this method.

You can't edit the driver because it's not imported. I don't think you can edit the I.D either.

If you import the Pelican, you can change the I.D. and the driver name. :?

I know... but that's what's weird. The dropship doesn't do that...

Did you search for c_dropship driver?

Because that's what it is called.
The lifepod's is:

driver_lifepod or something.

Yeah, if you search for the dropship_driver in the ASCII, you won't find anything... Which is weird because if you look in Eschaton, you see it. I tried changing it...

It looked like this...

dropship_driver

When I went to change it to W-driver... this is what happens.

W-driversipdriver

So... I tried to add spaces and then actually make it say, W-driver, and that worked, but, I opened the map, and it didn't do anything. So... I don't know what to do...

Yea, with that version of Eschaton, I think there was some sort of glitch. I believe it has been sorted out though.

Either that, or you did something screwy. :P

But can we import it into the Island? Taxiservice already has a gametype that has the Scorpion and Ghost added, now he has the Banshee too (just needs weps.) , and all we need to have every vehicle in the demo on one map is that Spirit Dropship.

Aside from that, like I said earlier, it doesn't server much function on Bloodgulch, Bloodgulch is too small. It needs a map, such as the Island, where such a vehicle would be not just useful, but necessary. Can you imagine playing the Island without a Pelican? The hogs would just circle the Island in CTF looking for each other. There would be no quick transport for Battle for the Shaft, or even for CTF. The Spirit Dropship serves virtually no purpose on Bloodgulch because Warthogs and Banshees can make trips across the map easily and quickly, so they are effective. It would also be too noticeable.

The Spirit Dropship is already there in the b30.map (Silent Cartographer, right?), as it appears twice in the campaign. Where the Island map is similar, and based on that map, if I am correct, then it should be easier to have it on the Island as opposed to Bloodgulch.

Just my humble opinion,
Moxus

I apologize for double posting, but that problem with Eschaton mentioned above ("W-driversipdriver") has occurred to me too.

I attempted to make the gunner seat of a Warthog into a passenger. First off, I had to keep pasting "W-passenger" into the "W-gunner" position. Each time, it added one character. when I finally got all the characters and tried it out, I decided didn't like it and went to change it back. I discovered that Eschaton will allow you to slowly increase the number of characters, but not decrease. So for "dropship_driver", where there are more characters than "W-driver" and so Eschaton pastes the new characters, and instead of deleting the old, leaves them there.

I must say, whether it worked or not, using spaces was very clever :D.

So. it appears that there is a bug in Eschaton 0.4.1.

Sincerely,
Moxus
