...

It sounds really complicated..

I don't even know how to upload a mod. I don't know what is the "mod information", and I don't know why the ****ing computer always says "Sorry, the file you uploaded doesn't have an extension." Please kindly answer as many "I don't know"s as you can.

I greatly appreciate it.

No, You have to do this: Create a folder (called your mod name) with your mod in it with a README text. Compress (zip) that folder. Press upload file, upload the zip file. The name should be Base-to-base.zip if thats ur mod name.

Ok, let me try. I'll give you credit in the Read Me.txt

EDIT: Can the Read me text end in .rtf?

You can just put your bloodgulch.map and readme.txt into a folder called <YourModName> then zip the folder up itself, quite simple. Read me text can just be anything as long it is a common application and anyone can access it (like WORD, TEXT EDIT , NOTEPAD>for PC). Don't just credit me, credit everyone who helped you.

What does Sparky mean by "mod information" on your quote on him earlier?

I uploaded the mod, my first upload.

How do I know how to make the links to the mod download page, link to the name etc?

BTW, the mod name is Base-to-Base.

Itll go there automatically. Mod information example (I'll use one of mine): You have been asleep for a long time, now its time to wake up on the ruins of Reach, a mere stump world. Maze and new grenades included. Another example: Its New Cytectic! New weapons, new platforms, new maze, and a new easter egg. Platforms are lightbridges now. The weapons are the energy sword (the advanced kind) and the HALO 2 Plasma Rifle!

And you dont need to retype the whole name, css, that thing. Just copy and paste right below then change the mod name, file, author, and quote

EDIT: And don't double post, just edit the previous one...

After you've uploaded the file, copy the file link, so where it says http://www.halodemo.net/ (...) /File:My_Mod.zip you would copy File:My_Mod.zip.

Then go to the Mod Database page and find the mod that comes just before your mod, alphabetically. Make sure it's in the right section, either multiplayer or solo mods. Then click "edit" to the right of that mod title.

In the text box that comes up, look at the entry that's there. At the end of it, put a blank line and then use the same formatting to add your mod after it (don't erase what is already there). For example, you might put:

Code: Select all

== [[:File:My_Mod.zip|My Mod]] ==

Author: [[User:fluffy pancakes|I'm the author, Fluffy Pancakes!]]

Version: 1.0

<blockquote>
This mod is awesome come play it now!
</blockquote>

I tried it out and its okay. I think the teleportal should be somewhere more visible llke at the back on top but nvm.
Why is the teleportal sticking into the ground?
You can just make it hover like 2 inches off the ground cause it looks better you'll see...

Not bad for a first mod!
