What about the Tutorials and Dev Board topics? Those are mostly on topic with only a few waverings and posts of nonsense. Remember that time when we had this huge argument somewhere, and Monoman cut the entire thing out? Or was that at SI's?

see the thing is drac. these globes are not made of anything that us 'earth dwellers' have discovered yet. they are related to a force field.
there are people called monitors. they sit at computers all day monitoring our existance and our actions.
things can pass through these force fields if the monitors deem it necessary. they normally do. plus, our solar system (globe) is in the centre of most of the other systems and galaxies. (we arent the centre but close). so if we did travel for like 200 kazipalilabillion light years, then we might hit the outer most force field. that is when the monitors would start worrying. but they have made sure it is almost impossible to do this.
by manipulating the gravitational fields and electromagnetic fields, they are able to trick any space ship that flies near the edge, into thinking they are traveling straight, but really they are slowly turning around and heading back the way they came.
and then if someone was not fooled by the effects of the electromagnetic fields on their radar and guidance systems, the monitors use an emergency phone to call the team leader, who can give the call to stop them. they do this in a number of ways. one in which they produce an alien starship to attack them and destroy them.
