Graphix Question.

Post by >Shadow< » Mon May 01, 2006 9:40 pm

Will this graphics card be suitable for the best quality? If so, why does the graphics menu not accept them?

ATI Radeon 9200:

Chipset Model: ATY,RV280
Type: Display
Bus: AGP
VRAM (Total): 32 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x5962
Revision ID: 0x0001
ROM Revision: 113-xxxxx-120
Displays:
SyncMaster:
Resolution: 1152 x 870 @ 75 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Not Supported
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Supported
Rotation: Supported

On the mac mini (which I have) is it possible to change the graphics card? Or is the mini "locked" toward changing it's supported features?

Does that answer your question?

If not, maybe this will:

I don't know. I've never had a problem with super high quality on Halo Demo. It is VERY glitchy and jerky though when I play it in full screen, so I clicked the "play game in a window" button in the preferences.

Maybe your graphics card isn't suitable for the best quality -- in which case you should go for the next best quality.

To use pixel shaders, you obviously need pixel shader support. My PBG4 with Mobility Radeon 9600 supports pixel shaders, but some Halo shaders are slow, so I use just vertex shaders.
