I remember reading somewhere in this forum, but I don't seem to find it w/ search function.
How do I make a weapon that overrides grenades & fires something different when the grenade button is pressed? (like banshee secondary fire)

You can export the plasma pistol weap tag, then re-import it. Edit it to your liking and theres also a flag that says cancels out gernades or something like that.

"secondary fire overrides grenades" sounds familiar.
Either you are groping for answers, or you are asking God and listening to Jesus.

After that you can edit the mod2 and wphi so that it looks like another weapon, and you with proj and effe swaps you should be able to make a nice weapon with secondary fire.Pielogist wrote:Secondary fire...
First you need to use the plasma pistol as your starting weapon
Go to reflexives > trigger > trigger 1 > floats
and set the 'charging time' and 'charged time' to 0
That prevents the gun from charging.
Now to make the secondary fire work, the starter plugins don't work on this step i dunno why.... so just use fuel's plugins.
go to bitmask32s > flags
and check the 'prevent nade throwing' and 'secondary trigger overrides nades' boxes.
You now have a plasma pistol that shoots charged bolts when you secondary fire.

1. First off, open up a map in eschaton 0.8
2. Scroll down to the Weap tag, and scroll down to the Plasma Pistol, recursively extract it (Control Shift E / Command Shift E / Map > recursively extract tag)
3. Open and expand the map you want with the weapon with two triggers in
4. Click the checkbox for the extracted plasma pistol, uncheck the "do not import duplicates" button, and click "Import"
4.5(optional). Rename your tag, if you don't it will show up as plasma pistol+
5. Rebuild the map (You can rebuild it directly to your maps folder or elsewhere)
6. Quit Eschaton and open it again (you can just close the map if you want)
7. Go to your Duplicated Plasma Pistol (plasma pistol+) and choose the reference swapper
8. Change all the Models, effects, animations, and projectiles to the ones you want. If you want an assault rifle, make all the models, animations and so on to the AR's
9. Go back to your Duplicated tag and follow this Bitmask32s > flags(weapon) > and check Secondary fire overrides grenades
10. Also check off Prevents Grenade throwing
11. Go back to your Duplicated plasma pistol
12. Choose Reflexives > trigger 1 > Floats
13. Change the charging / charged times to 0 so you do not charge the weapon
14. Change the rest of your options to whatever you choose. These include Rate of fire, Spread, acceleration / deceleration times etc
15. Repeat steps 11 through 14 for projectile 2
I'm pretty sure that's all, PM or ask here if you need help.
