- Requirements
  1. An internet connection
  2. Portmap, to map your port. (direct link)
  3. HaloMD
  4. Luck

- Instructions
  1. Open PortMap.
  2. Click the + button in the bottom left corner of the window.
  3. As Local Port set 2302, likewise for Desired Public Port.
  4. Uncheck the TCP Protocol box, and check UDP.
  5. Put "HaloMD" in the description. [Optional]
  6. Click Add Mapping.
  7. Make sure that the port is ON, normally a green orb should appear next to the description.
  8. Open HaloMD, press the Start button.
  9. Go to MULTIPLAYER.
  10. Under CREATE GAME, choose INTERNET.
  11. Select the desired map and gametype.
  12. Choose a server name, player count and password if needed.
  13. Click START GAME.
You are now hosting. The server should appear on MD's list.
If it doesn't, try being patient. Ask a friend to check if they can see the server or not.
Keep in mind that if the port forwarding fails, you won't be able to host this easily! If you're lucky your router won't be incompatible.

- FAQ
Q: What could go wrong?
A: Everything. This is a method that worked for me and it is not guaranteed to work elsewhere. But it's worth a try!

Q: What if my friends can't see the server listed?
A: Try to give them your IP. It should be shown on top of PortMap's window, just copy it and make your friends join you directly using Halo.
(MULTIPLAYER > JOIN GAME > DIRECT IP)

Q: Are these questions really frequently asked?
A: No.

Thanks for the tutorial. Next version of MD will automatically set the Port Map stuff up =).
I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!
