N00bs (People new to this forum) PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

Post by Yummy » Sun Dec 31, 2006 11:14 am

I would like to say, that, if you are about to post a new topic...HOLD YOUR HORSES AND READ THIS! If you continue with your post, you will probably be ignored or made fun of by me or other Veterans :D

Now, I imagine, you come here...and of course you want mods. So, if you want mods: Try this: MGM Mods for Halo or, try registering at Clan Halo (mac.clanhalo.net) and going to Mod Central.

Next, I'm sure....you will want to make mods because you are excited at the coolness of the mods I showed you.

So: before making a mod, try going to modhalotrial.com and registering. Then, to get started: go to Sword's Modding Pack

Now, you have started to try to make your mod...but you are like how the hell am I supposed to do this? This is too confusing? So, DON'T POST INTO HERE ASKING "Me want mods, make me mods!"...or...."I can't make mods....help me mod!"

We can help you out, but not when we're given a problem like "help me mod"....You're going to have to give us a SPECIFIC problem (more detailed). To do this, try saying these things:

Goal: (What are you trying to do?)

Problem: (When you tried to reach the goal of your mod, what happened)

What were you trying when you encountered the problem? (In other words, give us your view of what YOU think went wrong with mod, and also say the last couple things you did before you encountered the problem)

What have you tried to fix this problem: (Name a bunch of things you tried to fix the problem)

I am sure there is more, but the bottom line is if you have a problem, BE SPECIFIC ABOUT IT!

WE WILL NOT HELP YOU OUT if the problem you give is something like "ME WANT MODS." Please, try to post based on the guidelines I just gave you. Let me show you an example of someone who WILL Get a response:

sexiboi4real wrote:1)I was woundering if some one could tell me how to make shotgun specificly have zooms of like 2,3,8 or if u can tell how for any other wepsons that would be good too.
2)Also if any of you could tell me how to start out with 3 or four weps like sniper, shotgun, pistol & AR
3) How do u get a batle rifle or beam rifle into a map
Even that is not enough, it's much better than "ME MOD NOW, HELP ME NOW"

One more note on posting: There is something called "double posting" which is when you post 2 posts with no reply. So, if I were to post two things consecutively without anyone else replying inbetween, then I am a double poster. This habit is looked down upon in any forum site. Please, also make sure NOT to use such grammar as "me make mod i don't know to mod i need help please help me now i need help i want sniper shoot bullet no contrail." Try making something that we can read.

Also, on this forum, there are "Stickies" or things that are important and will help you out. PLEASE READ THOSE (They are above all the posts)! It has more information on how to mod, how to use "HMT" (in sword's modding pack), how to play a mod, how to use hexedit, and even more!

I hope this helps all the "n00bs" who come here.

Actually, Instead of reading all this, try THIS:

If you didn't read it then don't bother modding. You need to read and understand to mod...you can't just expect it to randomly come to you. Just take 5 minutes of your life to read it...seriously...

I do hope you are joking. If you're not then here:

Dyslexia
From wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Developmental dyslexia is a condition or learning disability which causes difficulty with reading and writing.
Its standard definition is a difficulty in reading and writing in spite of normal or above-average intelligence and cognitive abilities.
The word "dyslexia" comes from the Greek words ???- dys- ("impaired") and ????? lexis ("word"). People are often identified as dyslexic when their reading or writing problems cannot be explained by a lack of intellectual ability, inadequate instruction, or sensory problems such as poor eyesight.
The term dyslexia is also sometimes used to refer to the loss of reading ability following brain damage. This form of dyslexia is more often referred to as either acquired dyslexia or "Alexia". Dyslexia primarily impacts reading and writing abilities; however, other difficulties have been reported including deficits in processing spoken language[1] as well as non-language difficulties.
Despite popular belief, dyslexia is not caused by reversing the order of letters in reading, nor is it a visual perception deficit that involves reading letters or words backwards or upside down.
Evidence that dyslexia is a neurological or brain-based condition is substantial. Research also suggests an association with biochemical and genetic markers. Some question whether the term dyslexia is so fraught with popular misconceptions that it should be dropped altogether and replaced with the term Reading Disorder or Reading Disability (RD). Because difficulty in "breaking the code" of sound-letter association (reading acquisition) can be seen as being on a continuum, some believe the term dyslexia should be reserved for the most severely affected with RD, the bottom two to five percent. Moreover, dyslexia is not always the culprit in a child's not learning to read. Poor teaching methods can leave non-dyslexic children with poor reading skills.

Or shorter words... Dislexia has about two known symptoms. One of which; the most common symptoms is reading words backwards.

ADD is when you have trouble listening in on what someone is talking or writing about. That's what I have...
