Hilariously stupid glitchy mod attempt!

Oh my god... Right now I'm sitting here pretty much laughing my ass off. Here's the deal:
We know that so far any attempt I've made at saving and injecting meta has failed. Today, while I was messing with the mod2 tags, I decided to try it again. First, for the heck of it, I swapped the models for pistol and health pack, mostly because I was bored. I then decided to try some other stuff. Since I don't know exactly what the problem is, I recursively saved the mod2 meta for the active camoflauge. Then I tried injecting it non-recursively into the healthpack. As usual, an error message came up saying an exception of objectclassnil or something had not been handled and the system had to shut down. From there I went and tried out the map. UNLIKE all of my other attempts, this time the map did not fail to load. Instead it loaded up. You have to see it for yourself... I was standing in the middle of an odd grayish-silverish thing that stretched out across the map. When I moved, it seemed to move as well with me. It was everywhere. When I looked where my healthpack/camo should have been, there was nothing. The pistol was of course a health pack, but when you pick it up it still says pistol and it's as if you're holding a normal pistol. I checked where the camo usually spawns, and it was there, normal. I figure my mistake was that I somehow used the meta for how a cyborg looks when in active camoflauge, and so explains the gray anomaly. I tried this in another server... It looked hillarious, watching people run around shooting eachother with healthpacks! I uploaded the map to filefront. Comment below. Any ideas yet as to why I can't normally save/inject would be helpful. Before anyone asks, I used HMT, which is the only thing I can use other than eschaton. The file is called LMAO.

Haha.

Did you want to know how to swap mod2 things?

I did this once but I swapped the pistol with warthog. So ppl were shoots out of its rocket launcher. They were above ppl when they held the pistol so it looked like they were holding a hog. Then I went into a server and there was a guy called "a weakling" so i took a picture cause it looked funny. Someone with that name holding a rocket hog. WTF I thought it was funny.

What most likely happened was:
Pistol now has the mod2 of the healthpack.
You extracted the mod2 data (which included all the model information and then some) of the active camo. Note how it does nothing to the actual active camo model data which is why it wasn't changed.
You then injected that mod2 data into the pistol healthpack data.
Most likely, the mod2 data is partially corrupted and now the indecies point to verticies that make no sense creating an enormous shape that doesn't hold with natural geometry. Since that model is used for the pistol, it moves where you move. It's grey because the pistol is grey and the texture is stretched across that weird shape. You probably couldn't see the health pack because halo doesn't render backfaces and the shape can only be viewed from certain angles.

The large greyish stretching phenomena is well known to anyone who imports new models from another map and doesn't decrap them.

Right, so does that mean all I have to do is decrap whatever I try injecting? How exactly do I do that?

Decrapping is normally not an issue with mod2 inject and extract. In fact in order to decrap a model, the mac method is to just export a mod2 file and then import it again. However, this generally involves importing into the correct mod2 tag, not another one.

I don't see any file called "LMAO".

Gah, when I inject something I still get that "an exception of objectclassnil was not handled" message and my map still crashes. The map I posted above with the crazy big object is the closest I've come to doing something right, somehow...

Edit: It's there, I have another window up right now and I'm looking at it. Here's a link straight to it anyway:

Two words.

ARCHIVED. FOLDERS.

I don't understand why people don't use .zip, .sit, or something similar. The file is smaller and there's no need for file renaming.

You seriously uploaded it without compression? Tis madness.

-.- Maybe because my lousy 10.2.8 COMPUTER has no way of doing THAT. I already said this somewhere else, last mod I posted, I think it was the sc_betrayal mod. I don't have stuffit deluxe or any other kind of compressor. Alright? End of story. Get a faster internet connection. Now, in the meantime, I'm gonna go post a new mod...

Download Stuffit. Fast, easy, and makes you look less like an idiot.
