'Ey. How do you decrease the amount of light in BG? I know it can be done (Darkness Mod, etc.), but I am wondering how to do it.
Thanks.

You adjust the fog. I think it's in the sky tag.

you adjust the fog, and have it start immediately, and never get fully opaque. if it reaches opaque, halo won't load stuff beyond that point, and you can see the sky peak through in some places.
change the color of fog to black.

yes. and that method sucks balls.
it's not real darkness. it's just more difficult to see.
i know that there is another way to: editing the lightmap. <_<
now, i dont know how to... XD
Echo Ranger 449 did it in his cryophobia mod. (example: look at the base teleports. the light on the ground is blue.)
so... yeah... we should try to ask at halomods or something like that... <_<

Use the flashlight test to see if it's true darkness.

To make the level dark, and I mean ACTUALLY dark, you will need to adjust the lightmaps.
I have written a tutorial on halomods.com that explains how to do this, especially for halo trial.
The blue light on the teleporter base was just an adjustment of the hue/saturation. I wanted the light to match the color of the teleporter shield.
