That kept happening to me once. There was some fag in a KW that was just camping on the hill with the pistol and the second i spawned i had like 5 bars of health left. I couldnt even make it inside the base before i died and i couldnt stop him :(

When that happens, sometimes just shoot at the enemy with the most accurate weapon you have, even if it's an AR or plasma pistol. It might de-scope him & then he'll take longer to shoot. You can also try long-range grenade throws. It might at least create a smokescreen effect, and if you die you'll get new grenades anyway. If not, just hide behind something & watch your motion tracker. People are not usually very patient, especially if you're the only member of your team who is in the sniping area (also in 1-on-1s, no team(slayer), etc.)

Also, vehicles might be good for such instances, if it's not infinite ammo (with inf ammo, it's not too hard to shoot a warthog)

I usually don't like to snipe moving targets. (with a sniper rifle at long range, pistol sniping is ok) Accounting for the lag is too hard & wastes too much time.

i couldnt even GET to a weapon besides my spawn weapons- AR and a pistol, neither of which i was skilled enough to take down this superior force.

If you're up against a sniper who is so good that he can't even be de-scoped, then try taking another path. Like running to the caves. (Normal player reaction is to run to the base - it's my normal reaction too :P)

Then hide & wait for him to either come to yr position & then you can kill him with CQC, or he'll call you a noob & leave/end game. :P

Back on topic: Strategy can't help too much, so leave game if slayer, or switch team if CTF.

if you switch teams, you will basically get flamed, then betrayed, and get tortured. so i dont suggest you to do so

Unless you are balancing teams, in which case you might be thanked, but you'll probably be killed by your spawn killing former teammates.

That's about as stupid as the "NO SHEES" argument.

100th post in this thread, btw.
Had to claim it. *shrug*

thats why you don't want staying at same place, switching weapons around after you spawn.

I find sniping much easier when it's on instagib and players are invisible -- see my Random Starting Weapons King of the Hill gametype with invisible instagib snipers. (I think it's in that download of Random Starting Weapons Series.)
