[Mod]EliteWinder 3.0-Sidewinder AI
This is a mod I started work on maybe 3 years ago; this version was just recently released at some older, dead mac modding sites. Here's the topic, pasted from Rework3d forums (also posted on ModNexus).
EDIT: By started work I mean that I released the first version about 3 years ago and have been adding to it little by little since then.
Weapons: Spawn with pistol; can be carried with 2 additional weapons.
Pistol: 5x scope, more accurate
Assault Rifle: More accurate, longer range, more damage
Rocket Launcher: Fires 8 mini-rockets that home in on a target; best used outside
Covenant Sniper: Used by Elites; fires quietly
Plasma Pistol, Flamethrower, Needler: Retired
Shade Turret: Fires short, super powerful laser-like bursts
Chaingun: Much like the Warthog's; does not allow melee or grenade throws while in use
Covenant Shotgun: Overheated by 4 rapid bursts or a single overcharge; more accurate and weaker than default shotgun; overcharge fires the pellets of 4 regular shots
AI:
Close Quarters
SpecOps
Ballistics
Rifleman
AI has been tweaked for all elites so that they act differently from each other in a way complimenting their weapon. These four classes aren't the only one I've mentioned... You'd better find the fifth one before it finds you!
For best results, make a gametype with all vehicles turned on, as AI spawn in vehicles (flipped in SparkEdit). You may also want to increase the Player's health and damage resistance a bit; I almost recommend it.

First off, welcome to MGM!
now for some constructive criticism
1. bitmaps: the custom bitmaps need to be redone. at the moment it looks like you've just done a solid color.
2. covi rifle: well, you can see inside it. nuff said
3. the general idea of AI in multiplayer: been done. alot.

1. Solid color... are you referring to the covenant shotgun? For that I basically just took a needler shader. I don't know how to make UV maps for models that will import into Halo; the model itself was pretty impromptu anyway. The bitmaps also change the plasma contrails and give the Elite armor black highlights like Halo 2.AJ Ninami wrote:First off, welcome to MGM!

2. Covi rifle was just the gravity rifle, which I didn't bother making an FP model for, since I didn't think it would work... I might, but I'm not sure if I want to put that kind of time into a 3-year-old mod.
3. Yes, but there's plenty of other stuff stuck in that map. PMI'd drivable pelicans, C Dropships (yes, drivable!), and wraiths... also jackals and marine AI, but I just couldn't find a place for them once SparkEdit sorta crapped out. And for a concept that's been done so many times, I thought I did it pretty well

There is a much better version of sparkedit, called Swordedit. there will be a link somewhere on this forums, so use the search bar. also, do you have halo demo? if you don't, you should get it and mod that as there is way more people modding that.

Haha, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he had played an earlier version... This mod began as a drivable pelican+laser turret mod for Sidewinder, but that was in late 2006, I think. All the older incarnations of the mod are somewhere on HaloMods, now ModNexus. 3. Prefer you spawn in spots where elites can't find you...like a weaponary or something, cause one time, i just spawned, 2 seconds later, i got sniped O:

And it's not like I was working on it constantly for 3 years. 3 years on a Halo mod means a couple of weeks of productive work every 6 months or so... I'd post a version, put it down, come back, see it was still liked, then add some more.
