Mac OS X comes with a time machine, right? Use that time machine to go back in time to the year 2005 and use your key. When you do, you should be fine now.

Bungie is accepting all serials no matter when they were first used. You just have to play online once with said serial then type it on bungie.net and it will unlock the halo 1 name plate.

If you played using GameSpy before a certain date, you can use your CD key to unlock the Halo Reach "Oldskool" name plate.

All new keys are virtually useless for Multiplayer, which means you can't access any public servers listed on GameSpy. You can play on servers that aren't listed on the GameSpy server list using a method of connecting with the fantastic all-in-one IP:Port method.

Oh, and because you can't access the GameSpy servers, you can't use the new key for the name plate.

Yes, actually. as said by a bungie employee the originally did that to protect against keygens but then they figured it wasn't worth it, but they will do it if working keygens pop up.
