Fun Dynamic Modding..Mhmm.

I'll first mention all the things below I'm going to say are pretty much going to require Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

Well, if you know me, I enjoy memory modding/hacking/ halo. I looked into modding halo through memory, and I created my own tool that allows me to write memory mods pretty easily. I decided to distribute the tool and document all the information here so that anyone else can do the same if they want to:

http://halodemomods.com/wiki/Memory_Modding

Basically, the tool loads a script that the modder makes, which tells the tool what to do with Halo Demo.

If you don't understand anything I said, here are some demonstration mods I created that you can test out on your own server, for your own enjoyment:

Download [Mediafire]

(I'm not going to post screenshots of them, because, they aren't the type to be easily screen captured, but I did happen to video record one of them.)

(July 12, 2010 edit: I updated dynamic mod samples to a newer engine build)

So you have to have OSX 10.5 to run the tool? Damn.
I lol'd at the warthog though.

On the plus side, it's the first 64-bit Mac related modding app on 10.6 ;).

I was waiting for you to post it here ;)

Anyways, i have been looking at the circular warthog for a while and noticed some things

If you get into turret, you have a fun ride
If you get into driver seat and try to drive you will spin but when the spin goes near the ground, you die.

It is all very cool Nil, and thank you so much for sharing with us.

I also have some questions,

is the circular warthog CSS?
Can you apply is to all the warthogs, or let's say the banshee?

Should be CSS, and you should be able to apply it to anything, even players.

Hmm, the everyone vs host thing worked for me, but every1 else in the server saw it as normal...

Do i have to join a game with no betraying?

It will only work correctly if you are the host. Can't go hacking someone else's game now that easily...

[edit]:
Fun note, if you play the circular warthog mod or the annoying warthog chaser one on CTF instead of Slayer, it won't be the warthog that's doing anything... It'll be the red flag. :P

I thought that, but it said "make sure the host is on red team" implied it was a different person.

And the chasing warthog trick doesn't work on other peoples servers either... i was gonna have so much fun with that....

Are these the scripts used in CE or different ones?
EDIT: I don't know anything about this but i suggest making a Memory Hacking sticky with everyones findings.

Different. CE scripting is based on lisp not python. Might take a look at this shiny new toy.

erm... i'm on 10.5.8 and upon opening HaloDemoMemoryTemplate.app, it closes down again. Am i doing something wrong? I can't see your videos, or the other sample mods....
