How to make a vehicle LOOK like a scenery/weapon - it works

Post by 002 » Mon May 19, 2008 8:15 am

It's easy.

Note: You can't swap the VEHICLE'S mod2, you have to null it out

Step 1: Open an untouched bloodgulch.map with eschaton.
Step 2: Go to the dependency swapper.
Step 3: Go to a vehi of your choice.
Step 4: Null out the mod2 and change the antr to characters\cyborg\cyborg_mp (trust me on this)
Now the hog's model is nulled out and the antr is cyborg.
Step 5: Change the weapon to weapons\gravity\gravity_rifle
Step 6: Go to gravity_rifle in the dep swapper and change the mod2 to scenery\rocks\boulder\boulder
Step 7: Go back to the vehicle and null out the antr

You should have something like this:

Any Questions?

No, you don't have to use the boulder. You can use anything you want.
No, you can't add collision, if you do, you can still walk through it.
Yes, there is a better way
No, I don't know it.

There was no point in walking through a vehicle. It's making it look like a weapon or something such as the sniper banshee in dolphin mod. Also, read the subject name and that is what is really being accomplished.

I'm making a mod where it looks like a skull and there is new weapons I made and platforms and other goodies.

so just to hide stuff. still not much point to it if you could hide it otherwise. anyway that would mean you could walk through the rock, or if you threw a grenade near it, could flip it over. that is stupid.

read the title of this post. See how LOOK is in capital letters. It's making it LOOK like the boulder, it's not making it an actual boulder.

Plus, I didn't hide anything.

I know, but I don't see any feasible application of this in any real mod. I could see this in a "just for fun" mod but not in anything serious.

This was already done by Deox. I also have already done it. I used the imported antr of the covie_storage from b30, however. Also, if you'll notice in a VERY RECENT TOPIC somewhere around here I stated clearly that I was soon going to release my map and information about my studies on this subject, however, you, being a complete and utter bastardly asshole, decided to come and steal it from me.

FUCK YOU.

This is me, giving you the virtual middle finger. Since I don't have the time now to release my work, I'll make sure to release it tomorrow and completely blow your stupid "tut" to hell.

Have a nice day. (fucker)
